I love macarons, so I've waiting impatiently since I heard Ladurée was opening it's first US location in New York. And now they're finally open! I went this morning since I didn't want to have to wait until after the holiday weekend, hoping the line wouldn't be too bad so early in the day. Well, there was long line but at least it stayed entirely within the store - opening day apparently had a line that went outside. I bought a set of three tins of tea (Earl Grey, Melange Ladurée, Lapsung Souchong) and box of eight macarons (orange blossom, rose, lemon, pistachio, salted caramel, coconut, vanilla and chocolate).
So far, I've only had the vanilla and coconut macarons and they were quite good. I still have another six flavors to go, plus the tea, but I'm sure I'll be back.
